To download and install Internet Explorer, visit www.microsoft.com/ie. Click the link that says Download Now, then click the Go button to the right. Read the Download and Install directions found on the page, then click the Internet Explorer 6 link to the right to download the setup file ie6setup.exe. Save this file where it will be easy to locate, for example your desktop. Once the setup file has been downloaded, double click it to begin the automatic installation of Internet Explorer. The install files will take approximately two to two and a half hours to download over a 56k connection, but requires no further input from the user, except to reboot once the installation is complete.

Changing Your Home Page

To change your home page in Internet Explorer (the page that opens by default when starting IE), click Tools then Internet Options. Alternatively, you can access this under the control panel as well. The first field displayed on the General tab is labeled Home Page and can be set to any page you'd like simply by typing the URL in the field provided.

Saving and Organizing Your Favorites

To save a web site to your favorites list using Internet Explorer, simply click Favorites, then Add to Favorites. You can also click Organize Favorites to rearrange and separate your Favorites into folders.
