What is Netscape Communicator?

Netscape Communicator is a software suite that contains a web browser, an email client, and a newsgroup reader all in one.



What's special about Netscape Communicator?

Netscape Communicator is helpful for computers where multiple users use the same PC to browse the internet. It allows you to create multiple user profiles which store each user's email information, address books, favorite websites, bookmarks, etc... The format for this allows you to easily maintain a web browser and email client for your entire household with minimal hassle.



Where do I find Netscape Communicator?

Netscape Communicator can be downloaded from http://www.netscape.com



Now that I have Netscape Communicator, how do I set it up?

Click Start, go up to Programs, go to Netscape Communicator, then to Utilities, and finally click on User Profile Manager.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Click on New
  2. Click on Next
  3. In the Full Name field, enter your name.
  4. In the Email Address field, enter your email address as username@ezwv.com
  5. Click Next
  6. In the Profile Name field, type in a name for this profile so that you can distinguish it as yours.
  7. Click Next
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, enter: mail.ezwv.com
  9. Click Next
  10. In the Mail Server User Name field, enter your username
  11. In the Incoming Mail Server field, enter: mail.ezwv.com
  12. Make certain that the mail server type specified is POP3
  13. Click Next
  14. In the News(NNTP) Server field, enter: news.ezwv.com
  15. Click Finish


If I wish to change any of these settings at a later date, where do I find them?

To change your email settings, click on Edit, go to Preferences, and under the Mail & Newsgroups section, this information can be modified. To modify your mail settings, click on Mail Servers and to modify your newsgroup server settings, click on Newsgroup Servers.
